Lime, or Key Lime, is a popular, small green fruit from the Citrus family, originating from tropical Southeast Asia and South Asia. The cold-pressed rind extraction is also broadly known for its restorative, antiviral and antiseptic properties.

History
The lime was first introduced to Europe by the Moors, prior to its introduction to the Americas. Ship crews depended on limes to prevent scurvy when they were at sea for long periods without fruit and vegetables. Over time the therapeutic properties of lime oil were found to be antiseptic, antiviral, restorative and tonic. It has been used to help cool fevers and support the immune system. Lime is also believed to stimulate and refresh a tired mind.
