Palmarosa is a species of perennial grass native to India and Indochina. It thrives in tropical and humid conditions growing up to 3 metres tall. It is bright green in colour with a strong thin stem. It has a sweet, rose-like scent making it a popular addition to cosmetics and soaps. It is especially useful in addressing skin complaints.

History
Palmarosa is a wild growing, herbaceous green coloured grass that originates from India. The oil, with its rose-like scent, used to be called Turkish geranium oil or East Indian geranium oil. It was widely used as an ingredient in soaps, perfumes and cosmetics. It is particularly beneficial for the skin, with moisturising, regenerative and healing properties. It has been used for acne, dermatitis, minor skin infections, scarring, sore feet and fungal infections. It is also said to ease nerve and stress-related problems.

Uses
Skin rejuvenation
Add 5 drops to 10gm of Untouched Face Cream and apply to the face.

Skin blemishes
Add 5 drops to a steam facial or dab a drop onto spots or blemishes with cotton wool. Repeat daily.

Skin irritations
Blend 20 drops with 2ml Evening Primrose and 3 ml of Rose Hip oil and apply three times a day to affected areas.

Skin imbalances
Blend 10 drops with 10ml Rose Hip and 10ml of Argan oil, apply twice a day to affected areas. Enhance by adding an additional 5 drops of Geranium and 3 drops of Manuka.
Safety considerations
Safe when used as directed. Safe to use with other medication when necessary. If accidentally ingested do not induce vomiting, follow with olive oil or milk and seek advice from a health specialist. Avoid contact with eyes - flush with water. Keep out of reach of children.
