A Spruce is a coniferous evergreen tree found in the northern temperate regions of the earth. The oil is steam distilled from the needles and twigs. The oldest known tree on earth is said to be a Spruce, clocking in at nearly 10,000 years old. Its wood is used widely in contruction and crafting instruments and the young shoots are high in vitamin C. It has been employed medicinally to treat lung ailments, muscular aches and as a circulatory stimulant.
Overview
Fragrance notes
A green, woody, resinous pine aroma with notes of a deep balsamic warmth. Subtle pungency.

History
Spruce Black was used widely by the Native Americans both for its flexible strength and high nutrient qualities. Norway hosts the world's oldest known tree - a Spruce nearly 10,000 years old. The aroma is both calming and elevating and is thought to enhance ritual and cultural practices. Spruce Black essential oil has been heralded as an ideal remedy for all lung ailments and its deep forest aroma therapeutically stimulates respiration. It has also been indicated as a topical treatment for fatigued adrenal glands, muscular aches and pains, poor circulation and rheumatism.

Uses
Baby's congestion
Add 2 drops to the baby's collar. May be diffused also (5 drops into a diffuser) as a protective measure against airborne germs.

Stress reduction
Add 10 drops to a diffuser or direct to bath water. Therapeutic baths should not exceed 15 minutes.
For stress-related exhaustion, apply 1-2 drops direct to spine in the middle of the back. Repeat as required.

Adrenal support
Apply 2 drops each to the back of your hands before sleep. Preferably, wear cotton gloves. Repeat every night for 7 days.

Bronchitis
Add 2-3 drops to a steam inhalation. Add 2 drops to 1/4 tsp of Untouched Body Hydration and apply to chest and throat.
Safety considerations
Safe when used as directed. Safe to use with other medication when necessary. If accidentally ingested do not induce vomiting, follow with olive oil or milk and seek advice from a health specialist. Avoid contact with eyes - flush with water. Keep out of reach of children.
