Using hand sanitisers frequently isn’t something that is part of our normal life, and with so many sanitising products on the market, it can be confusing as to which ones you should choose and why. One important consideration is to understand the ingredients used and how they can benefit you and your family’s health. Below we have explained some common questions we have received about our products and sanitising in general.

HOW DOES HAND SANITISER WORK?

Hand sanitiser was produced to use after you wash your hands or for occasions when soap and water are not available. They are gels that contain alcohol/Ethanol in order to kill the germs existing on the skin. The Ethanol works rapidly and effectively with antimicrobial actions. 

WHY SHOULD WE USE HAND SANITISER?

Hand sanitisers are a handy on-the-go product, which can help prevent the spread of germs when soap and water isn’t available. Alcohol-based hand sanitisers can help keep you safe and reduce the spread of germs and viruses.

Hand sanitiser is:

* Several studies have indicated that the risk of spreading gastrointestinal (stomach) and respiratory infection is lowered amongst families who use hand sanitisers.

 

WHAT CAN BE CLASSIFIED AS A NATURAL & ORGANIC HAND SANITISER?

Absolute Essential purchases a certified organic Ethanol derived from plants and is not filtered through animal products (vegan) which is certified to have 96% alcohol within. To enhance the strong effect of organic plant-derived Ethanol in a hand sanitiser we added organic essential oils are traditionally known for their antimicrobial activity like Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and Mint. And as Ethanol (no matter what quality), can be very drying on the hands especially with excessive use, we combined this with Natural Gums and Aloe Vera Gel to nourish your hands.

 

WHAT ETHANOL PERCENTAGE SHOULD HAND SANITISERS HAVE?

CDC recommends that the use of alcohol-based hand sanitiser should have the Ethanol dilution of 60%. However, the Ethanol needs to contain a minimum of 95% alcohol. This is the critical point between our hand sanitiser and other cheaper options, plus Absolute Essential’s is 100% plant-based.

 

WILL MY SKIN BECOME DRY OR IRRITATED?

Unlike most other hand sanitisers on the market, we have included moisturisers in our blend. We have made sure that our product not only has a high Ethanol count but also leaves a moisturising feeling on your skin. By adding organic essential oils and Aloe Vera, the skin is left clean, moisturised and with a purifying scent in the air. Some of our customers with eczema have reported that this is the only hand sanitiser on the market that they can use on their skin.

 

WHAT IS THE NATURAL ETHANOL CONTENT OF THE ABSOLUTE ESSENTIAL PRODUCTS?

Purify Hand Sanitiser Gel:

There is much confusion around the % of Ethanol/alcohol in hand sanitisers. This originates from the fact that Ethanol in itself differs in its alcohol % content. The WHO (World Health Organisation) recommends that the Ethanol used should have a minimum of 95% alcohol to be effective - in order to inactivate viruses that are genetically related to and with similar physical properties as the Covid19. Cheap Ethanol that is derived from milk production, will only have a 60% or less Ethanol content. This indicates that it is an ineffective product that won’t provide protection. Absolute Essential’s Hand Sanitiser Gel uses 61.5% of this Ethanol to guarantee the desired effect of hand hygiene and protection against Zealous bugs.

 

Purify Cleansing Spray:

Again, for the Ethanol to be effective, it is recommended to have a minimum of 95% alcohol (as WHO recommends) and for a surface disinfectant spray it is recommended to contain 70% Ethanol. Absolute Essential’s Purify Cleansing Spray contains 70% Ethanol and fortified with organic essential oils similar to the other formulations within the Purify family.

 

Purify Diffuser Blend:

Is a non-Ethanol product. It is a combination of organic essential oils which have been expertly selected for their ability to support us against germs and microbial invasion. The blend complements our efforts by assuring your air is clean and your mood stays positive with an uplifting scent.

 

HOW DO I USE YOUR SANITISING PRODUCTS? 

Our bottles of sanitiser, surface cleansing spray and diffuser blend are designed for every day and everywhere use. They are small and can be added to your family’s daily routine, school bags, work stations, cars, offices etc. Our bottles are long-lasting concentrates and offer an easy solution to any application.

 

Purify Hand Sanitiser Gel:

To use our hand sanitiser effectively, place 3-4 drops, on the palm of your hands and rub it over your entire hands including in your nails. If the gel completely evaporates in less than 15 seconds, you have not used enough product. Repeat every 30 minutes if you are out and about.

 

Purify Cleansing Spray:

Spray within a 10-30cm distance to your desired surface and zealous bugs should be deactivated within 10-30 seconds. Surfaces can be sprayed when you are out and about and when you have no control over who touched them.

Our small bottle can be taken and used on a walk, a visit to the supermarket, and before and after you leave the house. The surface spray can be your own personal cleaning assistant; taken in the car, used on trolleys, EFTPOS machines, or gate entries.

 

Purify Diffuser Blend:

Apply 5-10 drops to the water chamber of our Ceramic Diffuser, and leave on for 1 hour to help cleanse and purify the air.

 

WHY SHOULD I USE YOUR SANITISING PRODUCTS?
