Sunburn

What is it?
Sunburn (solar erythema) is red, painful skin caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation in the sun. UV radiation is not related to the sun’s heat and can still pose a risk to the skin on cloudy days. Sunburn damages the skin and can increase the chances of skin cancer.

Please note, if you have been badly sunburned and feel sick, dizzy, feverish, or chilly, seek medical advice.
