History
Winning the title of 'elixir of life' from Avicenna, the ancient Persian physician, this is an exceptionally therapeutic oil with a particularly high standing amongst natural healing professionals. The Melissa plant was cited in medicinal texts in the 17th century for its positive effects on the heart and mind, and as a treatment to benefit digestion and liver function. While the plant is common, the oil extraction process is difficult and costly, so the resulting essential oil is a rare commodity. With anti-viral and sedative properties, and its reputation for natural vitality and balance, Melissa is one of the most revered of all essential oils for potent yet gentle restoration.
