Pregnancy & babies
What is it?
The most common question we are asked is which essential oils are safe in pregnancy and for babies. The honest answer is not a list of fifteen names. It starts with quality. Was the oil extracted low and slow? Are the molecules small enough to be accessible to delicate skin and a developing nervous system? Is there anything else in the bottle? A 100% pure claim on its own does not tell you much. Once the quality is right the answer becomes simple: very few oils, in much smaller amounts. Baby skin is thin and absorbs quickly, and a mother's body is fully occupied already.
Dr Bo formulated a dedicated Mother & Child range from the mildest yet most effective plant varieties for exactly this reason. She has approved every essential oil, pure blend and skincare formulation carrying the Mother & Child symbol for use at half dosage or less during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, and on babies and children.
For a baby with no particular health concern, three essential oils are all you need: Lavender Sweet, Chamomile Roman and Rose Maroc, wrapped in the two most beautiful carrier oils for a baby's skin, Almond and Calendula.

Blend intention
Gentle nurture for two. A light certified organic Sweet Almond and Calendula base that soothes, protects and leaves no residue, with Lavender Sweet, Chamomile Roman and a whisper of Rose to calm, settle skin and ease both mother and baby into sleep. This is the recipe behind Baby Oil: Rose & Chamomile, if you would rather have it made up for you. Use it daily, at nappy change, after the bath, or for a bedtime massage.
