Menopause
What is it?
Menopause is the end of menstruation, confirmed once a year has passed without a period. It may occur anywhere between 42 and 56, and the two to four years leading up to it, perimenopause, are where most of the disruption lives: hot flushes, night sweats, broken sleep, mood swings, and skin that suddenly turns dry, sensitive and itchy. Every woman's version is different. What helps most is comfort for the skin, cooler calmer nights, and a body that feels like yours again.
Blend intention
Balance, cool and soften. Woman Support is where this starts, Dr Bo's blend for hormone balance right through the transition, on pulse points, in the bath or in the diffuser, day or night. Then two recipes, kept deliberately separate. A morning oil of Geranium, Palmarosa and Spearmint to balance hormones and keep you cool through the day. A night blend of Lavender True, the backbone, for relaxation and its calming effect on itchy skin, with Chamomile Roman for sleep and irritation and Marjoram French to settle the body through the transition. Both go into a rich base of Avocado, Jojoba, Evening Primrose and Wheatgerm that feeds dry skin rather than sitting on top of it, or into Untouched: Body Lotion if you would rather have a lotion than an oil. Dr Bo's client on this routine came back two weeks later saying she felt herself again, in her own skin.
