With the rise of pure essential oils and clinical aromatherapy, more and more people are opening up to the many ways that these medicinal plant essences can enhance our lives and well-being.
Even in traditionally mainstream hospitals and clinics, we are seeing essential oils integrated into the prescribed care with proven effect on patients and staff alike.
Scientifically, our culture is catching up with the idea that scent and high-frequency essence can profoundly affect our well-being on an emotional and energetic level. And conceivably there are more revelations to come that will further bridge the gap between holistic healing traditions and modern medicine.
Certainly, the fact that a chakra is described as a vortex of concentrated energy in a particular body area does not sit wrong with the relatively new scientific consensus that everything, including our body, is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies.
Chakra energy has already been recognized by progressive medical experts
One holistic healer, who has become very well-known through her work with the Chakra centers is Caroline Myss. As a medical intuitive, her work does not easily fall under the umbrella of science but if you read her book ‘Anatomy of the Spirit’ you will find compelling accounts of Chakra-related healing based on the objective scrutiny of her intuitive voice in partnership with neurosurgeon Doctor Norm Shealy MD, PHD.
What Myss observed over many years was that illness in the body can be identified with patterns of emotional, psychological, and physical stress. She states that each illness and each body organ has its own frequency or vibrational pattern. And she has accumulated sufficient experience with different medical cases over the years to create a fixed body-map of illnesses as they each relate to one of the 7 main chakra centers on the body.
To give a simple example of how it works… if someone has repressed emotions of neglect and abandonment in childhood, the energy flow in their heart chakra can become blocked. This can manifest in later life as a medical problem such as lung or heart disease. Or someone with disease in their esophagus may have a critical underlying issue around not being able to communicate the truth, and this will be reflected in a lack of throat chakra flow.
Like I say, her book is compelling and well worth a look even for the hardened skeptic. And whether or not you want to believe that a person can ‘read’ energetic information from another person, the basic concept is in fact borne out by the scientific research of neuroscientist Dr. Candace Pert (1946-2013).
Research suggests that disease is caused by energy imbalances or blockages
Dr. Pert discovered that emotions are the mind’s interpretation of our body’s vibrations – vibrations caused by neurotransmitters in our cells. She also found that these neurotransmitters or ‘emotion molecules’ existed in clusters that corresponded exactly to the 7 Chakra centers. Her further research also suggests that disease is caused by energy imbalances or blockages which impede the movement of these emotion molecules.
How Pert herself put it: “My research has shown me that when emotions are expressed – which is to say that the biochemicals that are the substrate of emotion are flowing freely – all systems are united and made whole. When emotions are repressed, denied, not allowed to be whatever they may be, our network pathways get blocked, stopping the flow of the vital feel-good, unifying chemicals that run both our biology and our behavior.”
High frequency vibrations are associated with good health and pure essential oils have the highest frequency found in the natural world
So, things have come a long way towards a greater appreciation of the role of holistic medicine in our lives. For a long time now Absolute Essential has offered specialized Chakra blends but we do not give them any greater fanfare than our other clinical products because we believe that ultimately it is all part of the same approach.
Our pure essential oils bring many levels of healing and enhancement to the body – however you use them. Their purity of essence is purity of frequency, and essential oils have the highest natural frequency known to man. But that is of course exactly why essential oils are such a perfect complement to Chakra therapy.
Which essential oils to use on each of the seven chakras
When you use an essential oil or blend for chakra healing you can diffuse it in your space, mix it with a carrier oil such as Sweet Almond (5 drops to 1ml) and apply it in a clockwise direction around the corresponding chakra area.
If you are using a chakra blend as a novice to the concept of chakra therapy, then do some focused research with a book such as Anatomy of the Spirit to get a deeper appreciation of the issues at hand.
