Here’s how the diffusion method works.
There’s a small disc at the bottom of your ultrasonic diffuser that vibrates when the power is switched on. This high frequency vibration creates ultrasonic waves that break the water and essential oil/s in the holding tank into microscopic particles. The essential oils diffuser then releases these particles into the air as mist, so you can enjoy the aroma and easily inhale the pure plant goodness.

A word of warning about ultrasonic diffusers, however – not all models are created equal.
Indeed, a lot of the units out there today are made from low grade, flimsy plastic and cheap fake wood. They’re not designed or constructed to last, and they are ultimately destined for landfill (throw-away mentality: ‘oh no, it’s broken – oh well, chuck it out and we’ll get another one’).
What’s more, these cheaper models tend to have plastic interiors that are prone to deterioration and become sticky with frequent use. As the plastic breaks down it can contaminate the water/oil held within (possibly even releasing harmful BPA particles into the air) - making them a poor choice for genuine therapeutic use.
