RESTORE EYE HEALTH INSIDE AND OUT WITH PURE ORGANIC PRODUCTS

Why is it important to nurture your eyes for optimum health?

Have you ever seen one of those celebrity montages that have 'with' and 'without' makeup shots? Did you ever notice how small, puffy and unhealthy the eyes tend to look once the camouflage has been removed?

What we so often miss out on with the cultural focus on aesthetics is the natural, radiant beauty of healthfulness. And nowhere on our body is this more true than for our eyes.

The eyes are generally the most sensitive part of our body with each eye containing 107 million cells, all of which are light sensitive. The open, receptive nature of eye construction makes us especially vulnerable to damage, pain and infection when the natural balance of the eye is compromised.

Not only that, but the skin of the eyelids and around the eyes is 10 times thinner than other body area with very few oil glands to support moisturising and nourishment.

What is the number one most important thing for taking care of your eyes?

Avoid as much added contamination as you possibly can.

By this I mean be aware of the products that you use on and around your eyes and know that anything that includes synthetic molecules, including artificial colour and fragrance, is being absorbed which changes the delicate natural balance.

certified organic

The simplest way to stay safe and nurture optimum health for the eye and surrounding area is to have a blanket rule of only using genuinely beneficial products that are 100% pure and natural.

By beneficial, I mean ingredients that add valuable nutrients and/or health-enhancing properties.

What are the crucial natural ingredients for boosting eye health?

Antioxidants and vitamins

Such things as vitamin A, C, E, Lycopene, Tocopherol and Carotine offer natural protection against free-radical damage. Unchecked, these microscopic molecules damage cell membranes and destroy cells by robbing oxygen.

The visual effect is essentially wrinkles and poor skin quality. Vitamin C is also indicated for reducing uneven pigmentation (age spots, dark circles).

Omega oils

Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids are not produced by the body but are essential for cell health, nutrient absorption and hydration, also for effective repair and regeneration.

Omega 3 is notable especially for eye health because not only does it help control inflammatory compounds connected to ageing, it has also been linked to lower instances of degenerative eye conditions.

Omega olis are naturally emollient which means they help to bind water in the skin.

Body-compatible moisture and nutrient content

For that delicate surrounding skin we need a moisturiser that is light and easily absorbed. You want natural compounds that match the body's makeup to aid in cell renewal and repair, and to travel efficiently to nourish and hydrate the inner layers where they will enhance the production of collagen and elastin (for healthier, suppler skin, and to 'plump' out the wrinkles).

Balancing and therapeutic properties

For dark rings under the eyes, inflammation, puffiness, dryness and overly delicate skin you need a gentle, light, absorbable substance that includes toning, tonic and calming properties.

Pure, cleansing waters

Reflex tears are our natural response to dirt, chemicals and bacteria and contain extra molecular compounds to fight infection and reduce irritation.

When eyes are dry and irritated we want to imitate this, but as naturally as possible with pure solutions that contain organic antibacterial and soothing properties.

If we can include minerals and nutrients we can also nurture the protective layers of the cornea (because this part of the eye is not nourished by blood capillaries but by tears).

What are the best natural remedies for nurturing beautiful, healthy eyes?

Use the unadulterated goodness of pure, raw plant products for intense natural benefits. Nothing else is needed.

eye soothe

To cleanse and refresh tired, strained or red, irritated eyes you need a solution that is absolutely pure, with gentle but effective properties to soothe and aid natural healing.

You want something to:

  • help wash out grit, dirt and infection
  • bring antibacterial and anti-inflammatory and soothing qualities
  • help reduce redness, broken capillaries, itchiness and irritation
  • refresh from dryness due to hormones or the weather or air-conditioning
  • soothe and revive from eye-strain and over-use (computer work and screen-time especially)

Organic Eye Soothe

A hydrosol is a pure, distilled water imbued with the water-soluble properties of an essential oil and containing approximately 0.02% of essential oil. It offers a much milder presentation of the qualities of the original essential oil (but is still said to be therapeutically about 20-30 times stronger than a herbal tea).

In this blend of pure therapeutic waters you have the hydrosol version of classic nutrient, healing, cleansing and calming properties of Lavender, Chamomile and Rose essential oils.

If you consider that we are attempting to mimic as gently and unobtrusively as possible the cleansing, antibacterial action of reflex tears to lubricate, heal and protect the eye, it is interesting to note that this product has been recommended by midwives for cleansing new-born 'sticky eye' which occurs typically in the period before the infant is producing its own tears (2-8 weeks).

You can spray this directly into the eye or spray onto organic cotton pads and rest on the eye. It is also beneficial and cooling to the skin and can be used as a gentle makeup remover, toner and cleanser.

Organic Rose 3% in Jojoba

Rose Absolute is well known for its skin tonic and rejuvenating properties. It has antioxidant Tocopherol and Carotine activity, as well as antimicrobial, astringent and anti-inflammatory properties, with essential omega fatty acid content.

Jojoba is a powerful natural emollient that is easily absorbed by the skin. It has omega fatty acids with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, plus vitamins and nutrients.

The combination of the two highly therapeutic ingredients can be very effective for conditioning and protecting delicate eye skin and also as a night treatment for dark rings.

Organic Rose Hip Oil

With antioxidants Vitamin A, C and E, high fatty acid content of Omega 6 and 3, plus therapeutic properties that calm inflammation and irritation and help even skin tone and pigmentation (dark circles), highly nourishing, super light and absorbable Rose Hip oil is custom made for delicate facial care.

You will find it in a whole host of top-end cosmetic products but really it needs no extra help to do all the things you want it to. Simply apply regularly around the eye and facial area.

Organic Sweet Almond Oil

High in antioxidants, essential fatty acids (including Omegas 6, 9, 3) and therapeutic skin soothing, toning and balancing properties, this is another super fine, light and absorbable oil that is excellent for delicate skin care (an optimum choice for baby skin too).

It is rich in vitamin E which makes it especially good for blending with other oils (a natural preservative) and, like Rosehip, is often promoted for conditioning under eye skin to reduce dark circles. Organic Almond Oil is also light and gentle for eye makeup removal.
