A hardy tree native to Africa, India and South Arabia that can grow to over 7 metres tall. The trees start to produce resin when they are about 8 years old. Our Frankincense is ceremoniously harvested from trees that are over 250 years old. Frankincense has been highly prized since ancient times for its uplifting, sweet and spicy scent. It has been used broadly for thousands of years in rituals and cultural practices. It is valued for its antiseptic properties and is used to tone skin and soothe anxiety.
Overview
Fragrance notes
Deeply resinous, musty desert qualities with citrus-balsamic notes and complex spicy undertones.

Blending notes
Blends well with: Myrrh, Rose, Sandalwood, Geranium and all Citrus oils.
History
Since ancient times its spicy, balsamic fragrance has been highly valued in cultural and ritual practices. It has been used for many centuries to enhance contemplation and is said to relieve stress and anxiety by calming the mind. Frankincense has rich, nutrient qualities that have been used to rejuvenate dry skin and promote the healing of scars. It has also been noted for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Uses
Skin tonic
Add 5 drops to 25g of moisturiser and apply nightly.

Sleep and relaxation
Add 5 drops to a diffuser in the bedroom.

Stress relief
Add 3-5 drops to a diffuser or bath. Therapeutic baths should not exceed 15 minutes.

Anti-aging
Add 2-5 drops to 50g of Untouched Face Cream. For added benefits add 3 drops of Sandalwood and 2 drops of Rose.
Sore back
Rub 3-5 drops directly into to affected area.
Mix 3-5 drops into 1 tsp of a carrier oil, such as Almond Oil: Sweet or Apricot Kernel Oil: Virgin, and massage gently into the affected area.
Safety considerations
Safe when used as directed. Safe to use with other medication when necessary. If accidentally ingested do not induce vomiting, follow with olive oil or milk and seek advice from a health specialist. Avoid contact with eyes - flush with water. Keep out of reach of children.
